Storefront Editor Guide

The Storefront Editor provides access to edit and update Product & Brands Pages, and your Storefront Page as it appears on your Store. You can also customize imagery displayed on your Store.

In this article, you'll be guided on all features regarding your Storefront Editor.

Note: This feature is available to all Suppliers on Marketplace or the Customer Experience Platform.

Accessing Your Storefront Editor

The Storefront Editor is located in your Account Manager dropdown and from your Store. 

To access the Storefront Editor:

1. Navigate to your Account Manager by clicking your profile icon in the top right corner
2. Click Storefront in the left hand sidebar
3. Select one of the four Pages based on what needs to be edited. You can select:
   • Product Pages
   • Brand Pages
   • Storefront Page 
   • Categories

Alternatively, to access the Storefront Editor from your Store directly:

1. Navigate to your Store by clicking your profile icon in the top right corner and clicking on View Storefront under View Home
2. Click the Edit Page button on the left hand navigation bar on the bottom of your company’s logo

 

Product and Brand Pages Settings

You can customize information such as names, descriptions, and Experts in a Product or Brand Settings tab.

To customize your Products or Brands: 

1. Navigate to the Products or Brands Page grid under Storefront in the left hand sidebar
2. Select the Product or Brand that needs to be edited

To add an alternative display name to a Product or Brand:

1. Click on the row of the Product or Brand 
2. In the Settings tab, toggle on Use alternative display name under Product or Brand name
3. Provide an alternative display name in the text field 
4. Click Save on the top right 

To add a Product or Brand Description:

1. Click on the row of the Product or Brand 
2. In the Settings tab, toggle Use rich text description under Product or Brand Description
3. Provide a rich text description in the text field 
4. Click Save on the top right 

General Best Practices 

1. Refer to the full product name in the description when applicable 
2. Use unique descriptions for each specific product
3. Do not duplicate product descriptions across multiple websites
4. Properly format and edit your copy to US English 
5. Use detailed descriptions for all images
6. Include packaging information 
7. Include product identification information e.g. SKUs, ingredient names

To customize which Experts appear on a Product Page:

1. Click on the row of the Product or Brand 
2. In the Settings tab
3. Under Experts, select the checkbox next to the Expert you want to assign to a Product or Brand 
4. Drag and drop the reorder icon on right of each Expert to adjust the order in which they display on the page 
5. Click Save on the top right 

To feature a product on the Storefront Page or on a related Brand Page:

1. Click on the row of the Product
2. In the Settings tab, toggle Storefront or Related Brand under the Feature Product section
3. Provide a description for the Featured Product Description in the text field
4. Click Save on the top right

 

Storefront Page Settings

You can customize information such as Company Name, Header, Description, Experts, and Contact Information in Storefront Page Settings.

To customize your Storefront Page: 

1. Navigate to the Storefront Page under Storefront in the left hand sidebar

To edit the Company Name:

1. Edit the Company Name in the text field under About
2. Click Save on the top right

To add a Storefront Header:

1. Provide a Storefront Header in the text field under Storefront Introduction
2. Add a Subheading in the text field under Storefront Introduction
3. Click Save on the top right 

To add or edit a Company Description for the Storefront Page:

1. Add or edit the Company Description in the text field
2. Click Save on the top right

To customize which Experts appear on the Storefront Page:

1. Under Experts, select the checkbox next to the Expert you want to assign to the Storefront Experts tab 
2. Drag and drop the reorder icon on right of each Expert to adjust the order in which they display on the page 
3. Click Save on the top right

To display company contact information and social profile links to on the Storefront Page:

1. Provide the following Contact Information in the section:
   •  Phone
   • Email
   • Website
2. Provide company LinkedIn and Twitter account links in the fields under Social Profile Links
3. Click Save on the top right 

 

Category Grids

View how Categories are displayed in your Store from your Categories Grid.

To access your category Grid:

1. Navigate to the Categories Grid under Storefront in the left hand sidebar
2. Here, you can see which image is associated to a given category in the grid 

 

Editable Imagery and Inheritance 

Logo: Customize the logo displayed for a product card. 

• When uploading a logo to the Store, all products and brands that do not have specially assigned imagery will inherit this logo. 
• When uploading a logo to a brand, all product and brand cards associated with the brand and do not have specially assigned imagery will inherit the logo. 
• When uploading a logo to a specific product, only that product card’s logo will be updated.

Tower Image: Customize the tower image displayed in the left hand sidebar. 

• When uploading a tower image to a brand, all product and brand cards associated with the brand and do not have specially assigned imagery will inherit the tower image. 
• When uploading a tower image to a product, only that product’s tower image will be updated.

Card Banner: Customize the card banner used on your Store. 

• Upload a banner to the Storefront Page to use as a default banner across all of your search card’s in your Store.
• When uploading a banner to a brand, all product and brand cards associated with the brand and do not have specially assigned imagery will inherit the banner. 
• When uploading a banner to a specific product, only that product’s banner will be updated.

Featured Product Image: Customize the image that is displayed when the product is featured on a Brand or on the Storefront Page. 

• Featuring a product image is only configurable at the product level.

About Image: Customize the image that appears in the top section of your Storefront Page. 

• To customize this image, upload a new image in the Storefront Page of the Storefront Editor.

Technologies or Markets Category Cards: Customize imagery used to Browse Products by Technologies or Markets on your Storefront Page. 

• To customize these images, upload them in the Storefront Page of the Storefront Editor.

Category Image: Customize the category images used across your Store when you click into a category when searching or browsing.

• To customize these images, upload new images in the respective Categories of the Storefront Editor.

 

How to Upload Custom Images 

Upload your own images to display in your Store. Any image uploaded will be stored in “My Library” when you select “Add from Library”. You can upload custom images in the Images tab of any Product, Brand or Storefront Page, or on the Categories page.  

To upload custom images on a Product, Brand or Storefront Page:

1. Navigate to your selected Page Grid under Storefront in the left hand sidebar
2. Click Edit on the right of the row you want to upload an image
3. Navigate to the Images tab next to Page Settings
4. Click Edit on the right of the image you want to edit
5. Click Upload New Image 
6. Upload the new image 
7. Click Save on the top right 

Tip: To adjust image sizing, crop the image and move the zoom slider when uploading an image.

To upload a custom category image used across your Store:

1. Navigate to Categories under Storefront in the left hand sidebar
2. Click Edit on the right of the category you want to upload a new image for
3. Click Edit on the right of Category Image 
4. Click Upload New Image
5. Upload the new image
6. Click Save on the top right

You can also upload custom images to your own library to better represent your Store and your Company’s brand. 

To upload a custom image: 

1. Navigate to the Images tab of a Product, Brand, or Storefront page. Or to the Categories page. 
2. Click Edit on the right of the image you want to update
3. Click Add from Library 
4. Click Upload Image on the top right corner and upload an image 
5. Click Save on the bottom right of the modal
6. Click Apply Image on the bottom right of the modal
7. Click Save on the top right 

 

How to Select Images 

Use Knowde’s Library for an array of images you can select from for your categories, card banners, and towers. You can choose pre-selected images from the Knowde Library in the Images tab of Product Pages, Brand Pages, Storefront Page, and Categories. 

To select from Knowde’s images in Product Pages, Brand Pages, or Storefront Page:

1. Navigate to your selected Page Grid under Storefront in the left hand sidebar
2. Click Edit on the right of the row you want to select an image for 
3. Click the Knowle Library tab next to My Library 
4. Select an image and filter by markets using the dropdown on the top right of the modal 
5. Click Apply Image on the bottom right of the modal
6. Click Save on the top right 

Tip: To readjust sizing an image after uploading it, use the Reposition feature in the Edit dropdown.

To select from Knowde’s images in Categories:

1. Navigate to Categories under Storefront in the left hand sidebar
2. Click Edit on the right of the category row you want to select an image for 
3. Click Edit on the right of Category Image 
4. Click the Knowle Library tab next to My Library 
5. Select an image and filter by markets using the dropdown on the top right of the modal 
6. Click Apply Image on the bottom right of the modal
7. Click Save on the top right 

Note: The Knowde Library does not exist for uploading an image for a Logo.
