Media Management

Within the Knowde MDM, you can easily manage a diverse set of media assets including images, video, audio, and associate your media to your products and brands – enabling your teams to efficiently search, browse and use your media assets in one place.

Supported Media Asset Files

Media assets can be in the form of images, videos, audio and other multimedia files. Each asset has a type and format

Upload Media Assets

To upload media assets: 

  1. Navigate to Media under Content Management in the left hand navigation bar
  2. Click Upload on the top right corner
  3. Upload an asset

Tip: You can bulk upload up to 100 different assets at a time.

 

 

Manage Media Asset Records

You can manage and view any media asset in the Media Grid. Select an asset to preview it. In the Media Grid, you can filter, sort and toggle between list and grid display options. 

When you select an asset, you can view the following properties:

  1. File Name
  2. Type
  3. Format
  4. Dimensions
  5. Size
  6. Uploaded By
  7. Last Modified Date
  8. Create Date
  9. Metadata (EXIF, XMP, Dublin Core, etc.)

Additionally, you can view, download, replace, share or delete any asset by clicking on the  ‘…’ icon located at the top right of any asset on hover.

 

Share Media Assets

To share a media asset:

  1. Navigate to Media under Content Management in the left hand navigation bar
  2. Select the asset you wish to share
  3. Click Copy Link to copy a sharable link and select link expiration time using dropdown

You can also quickly copy a shareable link by clicking on the  ‘…’  icon when hovering over the asset. Generating a shareable link for any media asset in your system makes it easy for teams to share content with one another.

Tip: Use the dropdown next to “Link expire in:” to configure how many days you would like to give access to the asset.

 

 

Create a Collection

Add your assets to a collection to easily group your media assets. 

To create a new collection: 

  1. Navigate to Media under Content Management in the left hand navigation bar
  2. Click Collections in the top right corner
  3. Select “Create New” 
  4. Name your collection
  5. Click Save

To add an asset to a collection:

  1. Navigate to Media under Content Management in the left hand navigation bar
  2. Click on the  ‘…’  icon located at the top right of any asset
  3. Click Add to Collection
  4. Select which Collection you would like to add your asset to

By creating Collections, you can easily organize your media assets based on product, brand, market, etc. and customize the structure of your library – saving your team and effort when searching for and using media. 

Note: All changes to any media assets are stored. You can roll back to a previous version of the asset, or delete old
versions.

 

Associate Media to Products or Brands

Associate any asset with a product or brand record.

To associate a product or brand within the Media Grid:

  1. Navigate to Media under Content Management in the left hand navigation bar
  2. Select the asset you would like to associate to a product or brand
  3. Click the edit icon on the right Associated Products or Associated Brands
  4. Select the product or brand you would like to associate the media asset with
